KV240
YAGI-UDA DIRECTIONAL ANTENNA 2 ELEMENTS, 40 METERS

The KV240 is a 2-element Yagi-Uda directional antenna for the 40-meter band. It is a high-performance antenna to serve radio amateurs of all segments: local QSO, DX, Contest, digital modes, etc. A unique project that took more than a year to be developed in stages that involve: Definition of dimensions (length of the boom and elements), calculation of coils, choice of materials, modeling and simulation via software, assembly and practical tests.
The antenna elements are approximately 70% longer than a full size antenna, mounted on a 6.0m boom and feature high Q coils. These features allow the antenna to have an excellent length x performance ratio, which in practice resembles a full size antenna.
Main Features:
Modern and robust construction form;
High Q coils (high quality factor);
Square tube gondola;
High quality and resistant materials;
Bandwidth 230khz (SWR less than 2:1)
Capacity of up to 2KW of power;
Optional bracing of elements;
Can be dismantled into 2 meter pieces;
Stainless steel screws;
PP cable ties with UV resistance.

COILS:
The calculation and construction of the coils was one of the main points of attention in the antenna design, since it is only possible to obtain a high-performance shortened antenna with well-built coils and quality wires. In our antennas, we use enameled wire with a gauge of 8mm² and a good ratio between the length and diameter of the coils. These characteristics allow the coils to present very low losses and support high power. In addition, the coils were calculated to dispense with the use of "capacitive radials", which facilitates assembly and installation.
