Engineered to handle up to 4 kW PEP, the KV280-MONSTER delivers high efficiency and bandwidth across the entire range (adjustable between 3500 and 3950 kHz) via the KV80-BOX tuning kit attached to both elements (driven element and reflector).
Every detail has been designed for maximum reliability, utilizing a special aluminum alloy, high-strength fasteners, and premium-quality insulators. The result is an antenna capable of withstanding the harshest conditions while maintaining exceptional performance and a long service life.

BOOM
The KV280-MONSTER boom is constructed from 3” (76 x 76 mm) square tubing and divided into four sections interconnected by a reinforced joint system consisting of 3” angle brackets and stainless steel bolts. The use of square tubing offers superior mechanical strength compared to round tubing and eliminates the need to level individual elements, ensuring ease of assembly and perfect alignment.
To withstand high-intensity crosswinds, the gondola also features structural reinforcements—comprising rods, turnbuckles, and steel cables—ensuring maximum rigidity and durability even under the harshest conditions.
Central Plate
The central plate of the KV280-MONSTER is manufactured from an 8 mm thick aluminum sheet, ensuring high structural rigidity and torsional strength.
The assembly utilizes six 2½-inch U-bolts, providing a firm, secure attachment to the mast with an even distribution of weight and mechanical forces across the six mounting points. This design ensures maximum stability and durability, even under extreme wind and load conditions.
Elements:
The elements of the KV280-MONSTER are constructed from high-quality aluminum tubing, ranging from 2” (50.8 mm) to ¾” (19 mm) in diameter, with wall thicknesses of 3.17 mm, 2.38 mm, 1.58 mm, and 1.00 mm, respectively. These tubes are mounted onto robust aluminum profiles using STAUFF clamps and stainless steel hardware, ensuring excellent mechanical strength, durability, and precision in element alignment.
High-Q Coils:
The KV280-MONSTER utilizes high-Q coils from KV ANTENAS, developed to ensure minimal electrical losses and maximum radiation efficiency.
These coils are manufactured using high-quality materials and precision construction, delivering superior performance under all operating conditions.
Their use in the KV280-MONSTER ensures precise tuning and long-lasting reliability, contributing to the antenna's exceptional performance across the entire operating range.
KV80-BOX Tuner Kit:
